Seminar on human rights and sustainable development

Al-Dour Technical Institute The Medical Laboratory Techniques Department at the Institute organized a seminar entitled “Human Rights and Sustainable Development.”

Under the patronage of the respected President of the University and the supervision of the Dean of the Institute, the Medical Laboratory Techniques Department organized, within the activities of sustainable development and through the Quality Assurance Division at the Institute and during the current month of January, a seminar entitled “Human Rights and Sustainable Development,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Adnan Abdul-Karim Khalil, a faculty member in the department, with the attendance of a number of Institute staff members.
The objectives of the seminar were:
The concept of human rights and their importance in building society.
The concept of sustainable development and its economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
The complementary relationship between human rights and sustainable development.
The seminar clarified:
Promoting a culture of human rights and spreading awareness of it through educational curricula and media channels.
Emphasizing the principles of human rights in national and local sustainable development plans and policies.
Supporting vulnerable groups and ensuring their effective participation in development decision-making.
Strengthening the role of civil society organizations in monitoring the implementation of development programs and respecting rights.
Encouraging cooperation between the government sector, the private sector, and international organizations to achieve sustainable development based on justice and equality.
