Sustainable development is one of the most important global trends in the modern era, as it aims to achieve a balance between economic growth, environmental preservation, and social justice for current and future generations. In this context, accounting thought emerges as a scientific and methodological tool capable of measuring and evaluating the extent to which institutions achieve the requirements of sustainable development, through the development of accounting measurement and disclosure methods that go beyond the financial aspect to include environmental, social and governance dimensions.
