Department of Mechanical Technologies
About the Department:
The department was established in 1988 when the institute was established. Students who have completed high school in the scientific branch (applied or biological) as well as vocational study in the industrial branch are accepted. Both genders of students are accepted. The department aims to train students in industrial workshops and prepare intermediate cadres to have technical diplomas. In addition, students undergo a two-month intensive training program in various industrial facilities located in Saladin Governorate. The department includes many scientific laboratories that meet the scientific aspect of the curriculum, including (Minerals, Mechanics, Electricity, Computers, and Measurements). The department also has workshops for machines, lathes, carpentry, welding, plumbing, and filings.
Objectives:
The Mechanical Technologies Department aims at preparing the technical staff who will be the link between the specialist and the skilled worker. The department prepares graduates and provides them with theoretical information and applied and practical knowledge so that they can effectively carry out the work assigned to them. It also aims to train technical personnel to serve as a bridge between specialists and skilled workers.
Vision:
The Department of Mechanical Technologies is one of the main technological departments. The department is moving towards expanding its base by expanding the scope of technical education and its modern applications. The department seeks to be a leader in providing accredited technical services while enhancing competition and cooperation with the community.
Message:
The Department of Mechanical Technologies adopts a general message based in its general form on the framework of technical education in Iraq, which is the message that it seeks to achieve every year. The general objectives are focused on graduating technical cadres at the education and training level capable of absorbing technology systems and supporting the process of technical development to keep pace with rapid technical developments. The message includes the following:
1-Using computer and Internet technologies in education and training.
2- Activating the relationship with the private sector in the areas of training.
3- Follow up on the development of curricula and training plans and then update laboratories and workshops.
4- Interaction with the labor market and community needs in the field of qualification and training. The Department of Mechanical Technologies aims to achieve certain goals every year to maintain a high level of technical education in Iraq. These goals include graduating technical experts who possess the necessary skills to adopt and implement modern technology systems. The department also seeks to eliminate discrimination and promote equal opportunities for all its students.
To achieve these goals, the department adopted a special message focusing on the following points:
Integrating computer and Internet technologies into the education and training process.
Establishing strong relationships with private sector companies to enhance the quality of training.
Updating training curricula periodically and updating laboratories and workshops.
Keeping pace with the needs of the labor market and the aspirations of society by providing relevant training and qualification programs.
