The Technical Institute in Al-Dour is one of the Iraqi technical institutes affiliated to the Northern Technical University. The institute was established in 1988 and began studying in 1989. It is located in Salah al-Din Governorate, one kilometer from the center of Al-Dur district. The institute aims to prepare specialized technical cadres that meet the needs of the labor market in multiple fields. The institute includes several scientific departments, including:

• Medical departments: such as medical laboratory techniques, immediate aid techniques, prosthetic techniques, and pharmacy techniques.

• Technological departments: such as electronics technologies, mechanical techniques, and medical device technologies.

• Administrative departments: such as accounting techniques, legal management techniques. The institute offers morning and evening study programs, and accommodates more than 4,000 students. It also contains modern laboratories and specialized workshops to support the educational process. The institute was damaged during ISIS’s control but has undergone ongoing rehabilitation and development.
