Student Disciplinary Regulations

Iraq Ministry of Higher Education: Student Disciplinary Regulations (160/2007, amended 169/2018).

 

Article 1 

  • Follow Ministry & university rules.

  • Respect religion, national unity & avoid discrimination.

  • Uphold the university’s reputation.

  • Maintain good conduct & respect faculty/staff.

  • Behave positively for scholarship/appointment chances.

  • Maintain order & not disrupt classes/activities.

  • Preserve university property.

  • Follow dress code & avoid disruptive behavior.

  • Avoid promoting divisive organizations.

  • No political propaganda or partisan activities.

  • Use technology responsibly.

  • No attending classes intoxicated

Article 2

Disciplinary Actions:

  • Warning: Dress uniform violation, disrupting student relations, repeat minor offense.

  • 30-Day Suspension: Repeat warning, abusing non-faculty staff, defaming faculty, disruptive posters.

Article 3

  • Warning issued for: Repeat minor offense or disrupting order.

Article 4

30-Day Suspension for:

  • Repeat warning offense

  • Verbal abuse of non-faculty staff

  • Defaming a faculty member

  • Putting up disruptive posters

Article 5

Temporary Suspension (Up to 1 Academic Year) for:

  • Repeat offense from Article 4

  • Engaging in or inciting sectarian/racial/political gatherings

  • Physical assault on non-faculty staff

  • Violence, threats, or blackmail against fellow students

  • Threatening violence

  • Possessing weapons, cutting tools, or harmful substances on campus

  • Intentionally or negligently damaging university property

  • Harming national unity or religious beliefs

  • Verbally abusing faculty members

  • Damaging the university’s reputation

  • Intentionally disrupting academic activities

  • Proven fraud or deception against fellow students or staff

Article 6

Permanent Expulsion for:

  • Repeat offense from Article 5

  • Physical assault on faculty members

  • Immoral or unethical behavior

  • Submitting forged documents knowingly

  • Disrupting campus security or aiding in such activities

  • Conviction of a felony or misdemeanor exceeding one year in prison
