The Department at a Glance

It was established in 2024-2025 with the aim of providing the community and the job market with specialized expertise in computer network systems. The department aims to develop students’ capabilities and qualify them to practice professions related to the design, development, and maintenance of wired and wireless computer networks and their software, in order to keep pace with the rapid development in this field and achieve leadership and excellence in the field of computer networks and information technology at the level of Iraq and the region.

Vision

Leadership and excellence in the field of information technology and computer networks, with a positive impact at the level of Iraq and the region. The department seeks to provide the community with effective cadres in network systems, and to develop their abilities to interact and communicate in the information society.

Mission

We seek to provide distinguished education in the field of computer networks, in line with international standards, while producing creative research that supports higher education and providing technical consultations to enhance the performance level of the community.

Objectives

  1. Preparing scientifically and practically qualified cadres to meet the requirements of the job market and the needs of development.

  2. Continuously developing curricula in line with technical and knowledge innovations.

  3. Strengthening ties with similar departments in regional and global universities and academic institutions, and positively interacting with their successful experiences.

  4. Participating in community service through continuous interaction with its institutions, providing scientific consultations, and enhancing continuing education programs.

  5. Encouraging scientific research in theoretical and applied sciences, and supporting future research that is consistent with development programs.
