Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the Dean of the Mosul Technical Engineering College, the Department of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Engineering Technologies, in academic collaboration with Cardiff Metropolitan University / Eureka Centre for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence / School of Technology, organized a specialized virtual workshop entitled:

“An Overview of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Technologies.”

The workshop was attended by the Head of the Department of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Engineering Technologies, a number of faculty members, as well as first-year students. The event was held within the framework of enhancing students’ knowledge base and keeping pace with recent developments in the field of UAV technologies, including their applications and technical characteristics.

The workshop covered the following key themes:

• An introduction to unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) technologies, their operating principles, types, advantages, structural components, and main subsystems, in addition to an overview of their technological applications across various sectors and fields.
• Highlighting the mechanisms of UAV motion control and stability, and explaining the technical specifications of each type, thereby contributing to the development of students’ technical awareness and the enhancement of their scientific skills.

The workshop was delivered with the participation of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Qutaiba Shanshal, as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to support scientific activities and strengthen international academic collaboration (Internationalization).
