Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajari, Dean of the Technical Agricultural College, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University Presidency, organized a scientific seminar as part of the Sustainable Development Activities, entitled:
“Sustainable Nutrition and Its Role in Achieving Health and Food Security.”

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Maha Abdulmonem Al-Jawadi, who discussed the concept of sustainable nutrition and its importance in promoting public health and ensuring food security. The lecture highlighted the close relationship between sustainable food systems and the reduction of diseases associated with malnutrition, as well as their role in preserving natural resources for future generations.

The seminar concluded with several key recommendations, most notably:

• Raising awareness of the concept of sustainable nutrition among students and the local community.

• Encouraging the adoption of healthy dietary patterns that contribute to improving health and food security.

• Supporting academic and research programs related to sustainable nutrition and sustainable development.

• Integrating sustainable nutrition concepts into educational activities and training workshops.

• Enhancing cooperation between academic institutions and relevant sectors to achieve health and food security goals.

The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students of the Technical Agricultural College – Mosul, reflecting the college’s commitment to promoting scientific awareness and supporting sustainability-oriented initiatives.
