Under the patronage of the President of Northern Technical University, the Dean of the Technical Engineering College / Mosul, Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Unit, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University Presidency, organized a seminar entitled “Utilization of Waste Oils from the Food Industry in Energy Production.” The seminar was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Omar Abdulhadi Mustafa, with the participation of a number of the college staff members.

The seminar addressed the enhancement of awareness regarding alternative and sustainable energy sources and methods of their utilization, in addition to the use of waste materials and environmentally harmful residues in energy production. Given the close association of food industries with human life, a margin of food-related waste is continuously generated, which can be exploited in the energy sector. This contributes to reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and helps preserve the environment from the risks posed by continuously discarded waste.

Seminar Objectives:
To highlight sustainable energy sources and methods of their utilization in order to protect the environment and reduce the harmful impacts of human-generated waste.
