I examined in the Administrative Technical College / Mosul, the technical master’s thesis specializing in business management techniques, the role of the official and informal position of the leader in determining the methods of influencing workers: an analytical study of the opinions of a sample of workers in the Directorate of Municipalities of Nineveh.

The thesis submitted by the student (Noor Thanoun Abdullah Al-Bejat) to the study aimed to describe and diagnose the discovery of the correlation and influence relations between the official and informal position of the leader through its basic variables (career position, official privileges, precedence in the job, experience, personal admiration, diversity of relational tide, Communicating with influential people, owning wealth) and between the methods of influence of all kinds (compliment, rational persuasion, spiritual appeal, personal appeal, legitimacy).

A part of the discussion was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Thanoun Younis Thanon, the Assistant to the President of the University for Scientific Affairs, the Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafeh Mahmoud, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Samir Taha Yassin, the Director of the Graduate Studies Department at the Presidency of the University, and the Associate Dean For administrative affairs and several faculty members and graduate students.

The study reached a set of conclusions, including the multiplicity of the influence methods that have been adopted by leaders in the field of business, as indicated by their diversity, thus allowing the leadership to choose the most appropriate and in line with their intellectual orientations and the level of their awareness of these methods, and most importantly, the extent to which they seek to approve cases of influence or not.

The study concluded with several recommendations, the most prominent of which was the need to pay attention to the study of the official and unofficial position of the leader at the level of the organization in question, as well as the importance of adopting a set of basic variables that explain the official and informal position of the leader and in the context of the actual coexistence of administrative leaders at the level of organizations and working to enrich the influential methods that can be Adopted by the leader in the field of work.
