The technical master’s thesis at the Northern Technical University discusses “the application of an electric vehicle based on the Internet of things for smart cities”

The College of Engineering / Mosul conducted a discussion of a master’s thesis specializing in computer technology engineering tagged: – Application of an electric vehicle based on the Internet of things for smart cities
Electric Vehicle Application Based on IoT for Smart Cities
The thesis presented by a graduate student (Mahmoud Hamid Qahtan) examined the importance of electric vehicles and the necessity of moving to use them as they represent the next generation of transportation, to reduce environmental pollution, which is considered environmentally friendly by providing an application for electric vehicles based on the Internet of Things.
The thesis aimed to design and implement a system that provides real-time information to electric vehicle users about the vehicle’s coordinates and the available charging stations of both types (fixed and mobile) with the suggestion of the nearest station and providing the user with the estimated time to reach the nearest charging station to reduce the time and energy consumed in the process of searching for available charging stations It also provides information about the status of the battery.
The message recommended the possibility of using the system to provide users of this type of vehicle with basic information related to the battery status such as (battery capacity and charging and discharging current), which leads to an increase in battery life and provides them with the locations of the available charging stations, which are displayed and updated in real-time using the mobile application.
A part of the discussion was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Majed Khalil Najm, and several faculty members and graduate students.
The discussion committee consisted of:

  1. Professor Dr. Khaled Khalil Mohamed, Chairman.
  2. Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Rafe Omar as a member.
