Under the patronage of Her Excellency, the President of the Northern Technical University, and the Dean of the Engineering Technical College / Mosul, Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Unit, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University Presidency, organized a seminar on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, entitled:

“The Role of Biofuels in the Economy and the Environment.”

The seminar was delivered by Asst. Prof. Tariq Khalid Abdulrazzaq, with the participation of a number of the college staff members. The seminar addressed biofuels, the technologies used in their production, and the extent to which their production is suitable for our country.

The objectives of the seminar included:

1. Introducing biofuels
2. Providing a historical overview
3. Explaining the components of natural gas
4. Presenting a general overview
5. Discussing global gas production
6. Highlighting the distribution of livestock wealth worldwide and in Iraq
7. Explaining methods of biofuel production
8. Presenting experiments conducted by students of the Engineering Technical College in this field
9. Clarifying the benefits of biofuels for the economy and the environment
