The President of the Northern Technical University chairs a committee to discuss the master’s thesis in the Technical College of Engineering/ Mosul, specializing in engineering techniques for structural materials, tagged a new method for designing green and low-cost concrete mixtures used for construction purposes.

The thesis presented by the student (Mohammed Abdul Karim Mal Allah) discussed the addition of (slag) materials resulting from iron smelting furnaces to cement mixtures in certain proportions to produce environment-friendly concrete, researching the structural properties at a low economic cost, and determining formulas for mathematical equations used for the purpose of designing these mixtures.

The thesis aims at:

Designing a new method for the production of environmentally friendly concrete mixtures using industrial techniques while reducing carbon dioxide emissions and the energy used for production. Part of the discussion was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafea Mahmoud, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Maged Khalil Najm and Mr. Director of the Graduate Studies Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Maan Abdel-Khaleq Yahya.

The discussion committee consisted of:
