In connection with the course of academic institutional matters, the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, attended a second regular meeting of the Steering Committee, which was held in the capital, Baghdad, which focused on the framework of the project (Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training – Phase II), which was held at the invitation of the UNESCO office in Baghdad The meeting was attended by representatives of the advisory body in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, representatives of the ministries of higher education, scientific research, education, labor, social affairs, planning and personalities, heads of technical universities in the center and the region, representatives of UNESCO, the European Union and the private sector. During the meeting:

 Presentations on the remarkable progress of the project

Discussing the work plan for vocational education and training and activities for the coming period

– Presentation of the progress achieved in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Law and the areas that require the support of members of the Steering Committee.

The university president pointed out the difficulties facing technical and vocational education, and she presented many proposals to overcome obstacles and at the same time praised the successes recorded by technical universities and their capabilities.
