In line with her commitment to academic excellence and her unwavering dedication to postgraduate students, the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, attended the discussion of a master’s thesis at the Technical Engineering College / Mosul in the field of Thermal Engineering Technologies, entitled:

“Experimental Investigation of a Solar-Driven Heat Pump System.”

The thesis, submitted by the researcher Ehsan Mohammed Ali Ibrahim, conducted a comprehensive experimental study, including an evaluation of the performance and economic feasibility of a hybrid thermal system powered by solar energy, compared with conventional thermal systems.

The study aimed to contribute scientifically to the integration of renewable energy sources with thermal systems, with the goal of improving energy efficiency and reducing operational costs. It also addressed the main challenges facing conventional systems, such as low efficiency, high operational costs, and negative environmental impacts.

The thesis concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably advocating the adoption of solar-powered hybrid thermal systems in residential and governmental buildings, due to their effectiveness in improving operational efficiency, reducing electricity consumption, and decreasing reliance on fossil fuels, while ensuring high economic feasibility when implementing these systems.
