Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Department of Media and Government Communication at the Technical Engineering College-Mosul organized an introductory seminar in cooperation with the Iraqi Youth Model United Nations (IYMUN) on the topic:
“Iraqi Youth Model United Nations — Towards an Empowered Youthful Diplomatic Consciousness.”

The seminar aimed to introduce students to IYMUN in Nineveh province, highlight its role in promoting concepts of dialogue, diplomacy, teamwork and international representation among youth.
The seminar covered:

• An introduction to the Model United Nations (MUN) concept and objectives.

• A discussion of the importance of Iraqi youth participation in international forums.

• Explanation of the registration and participation mechanisms for IYMUN.

• Presentation of previous participants’ experiences, followed by an open discussion and student questions.

The seminar was delivered by Mr. Abd al-Rahman Ziyad Ali — student representative of the college and Local & International Liaison Officer for the MUN model — in the presence of college students, several faculty members and stakeholders interested in youth affairs and human rights.
