The Northern Technical University organizes a large-scale afforestation campaign in the Ba’shiqah sub-district.

Under the direction of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and on the occasion of Sustainability Week, the Division of Media and Government Communication and the Division of Science and Technology Gardens organized a tree-planting campaign in the Ba’shiqah sub-district, aimed at promoting concepts of peaceful coexistence among the components of Nineveh Governorate.

In total, (100) trees suitable for the nature and climate of the Ba’shiqah sub-district were planted.

The campaign included prominent religious and cultural sites in the sub-district, including the Ba’shiqah Temple, the Imam Ridha Shrine, the Monastery of St. George (Al-Khidr), and the shrine of the Kakai brothers — a step that reflects a spirit of cooperation and brotherhood among the various segments of society, as well as contributing to the improvement of the environmental reality and the increase of green spaces.

This initiative comes as part of the university’s series of activities aimed at supporting environmental sustainability and strengthening human and social values, thereby contributing to the consolidation of a culture of peace and peaceful coexistence.
