Under the patronage and in the presence of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Human Rights Unit at the Technical Engineering College/Mosul, in cooperation with the Media and Government Communication Division, organized on the morning of Tuesday (9 December 2025) a ceremony marking International Human Rights Day, with the attendance of a group of the college’s staff and students.

The program commenced with an introduction delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Mawjoud, Head of the Human Rights Unit. The event opened with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech delivered on behalf of the University President and the Acting Dean of the College. Subsequently, a legal lecture was presented by Prof. Dr. Talal Abdul Hussein, Head of the Public Law Department at the College of Law/University of Mosul, in which he addressed the importance of promoting a culture of rights and freedoms, as well as the role of educational institutions in fostering legal awareness within the academic community.

The celebration also featured national and humanitarian poetic readings delivered by Dr. Hamid Abdulwahab from Al-Imam Al-A‘tham University College, conveying profound messages underscoring human dignity and the right to live in peace and justice.

The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the distinguished speakers by the University President, who emphasized the importance of reinforcing human rights principles within the university environment as a fundamental pillar of societal development.
