The Minister of Education chairs the meeting of the opinion board and confirms commitment to the plans of universities and preparations for full attendance next year

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabeel Kazem Abdul-Sahib, chaired the third meeting of the opinion board and emphasized the observance of scientific alignment, commitment to university plans, application timings, directing in preliminary and higher studies, and preparation for full attendance in the next academic year.

During the meeting, in the presence of the advanced owners and presidents of all government universities, he directed the importance of the institutional performance of universities, enabling them to follow the academic scientific programs, taking into account the scientific concentration in all fields, and enhancing the readiness of university institutions to perform full attendance in the next academic year by the recommendations submitted by the Ministry to the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety Adopting the labor market standard in dealing with the future of specializations and developing it.

He congratulated public and private universities and colleges for obtaining positive results in international rankings and enhancing the international reputation of Iraqi higher education institutions, praising the efforts of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority in releasing the results of the Iraqi classification of universities, pointing out that the date of the third of March of each year was fixed as the date for the release of classification results.

The attendees discussed the topics on the agenda of the third meeting of the opinion board, and the attendees voted affirmatively on several decisions, including:

  • Forming a higher committee headed by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority and the membership of university presidents from doctors and elite deans of medical colleges to evaluate the reality of medical study and provide a comprehensive development vision and diagnose its requirements related to quality and accreditation.
  • Commitment to the plans of universities in the initial and higher studies and the adoption of the official timings in the admission file for postgraduate studies and direct study.
  • Not to work with the return of students to their restrictions, not to take the supplementary exam, to abide by the exam instructions, and to authorize the college and university councils to process the powers of treatment for critical study cases and the continuation of the transit system.
  • Continuing to work at the cumulative rate in universities that operate the course system.
  • Granting students of certificate equivalency who joined the parallel system in the faculties of medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy an additional attempt at full time and an exam after they failed in the fourth attempt.
  • Accreditation of the recommended scholarship universities in light of international classifications for the study of employees outside Iraq.
  • Referring several certificate equivalency files to the specialized scientific committees in universities.
  • Unifying the admission rates for evening studies in faculties of law in universities and government and private colleges and authorizing university councils and the supervisory body to consider reducing the minimum limits for submission.
  • Naming the graduation course for the academic year 2022/2021 as (By science, nations are built).
  • Authorizing university presidents to grant maintenance leave by the Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs Law No. 38 of 2013.
  • To vote on the introduction of the evening study in the Department of Biotechnology, College of Science at Anbar University.
  • To vote on the introduction of the evening study in the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering / Sharqat, University of Tikrit.
  • The Minister of Education concluded the meeting by emphasizing the need to enable university councils to take appropriate and studied decisions and to develop appropriate strategic paths to advance the reality and requirements of development.
