2025-02-20The Environmental Team of the Chemical Industries Engineering Technology Department students, within the activities of the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit and in cooperation with the Guidance Unit, organized a scientific symposium entitled: “Sustainable Development in Iraq and the Impact of Wars on It.”
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Majid Khalil Najm
The environmental team of the students of the Department of Chemical Industries Engineering Technology, within the activities of the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit, and in cooperation with the Guidance Unit, organized a scientific symposium entitled: –
“Sustainable Development in Iraq and the Impact of Wars on It”
The symposium was attended by students of the environmental team in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Industries Engineering Technology, including: –

The symposium came out with the following recommendations:
1. Improving the management of natural resources: Strengthening water resource conservation policies and reducing environmental pollution resulting from wars and industrial activities.
2. Encouraging investment in renewable energy: Supporting and developing solar and wind energy projects to reduce dependence on non-renewable resources.
3. Rehabilitation of agricultural lands: Implementing projects to rehabilitate damaged lands and improve agricultural production to ensure food security.
4. Promoting sustainable economic development: Encouraging green industries and environmental investments to achieve balanced and sustainable economic growth.
5. Improving health and education services: Increasing investments in the health and education sectors to ensure a better life for citizens.
6. Caring for affected communities: Providing job opportunities and implementing development projects to support the groups most affected by crises.
7. Adopting a long-term vision for development: Developing national strategies that ensure social and economic stability while preserving the environment for future generations.
