Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Industries Engineering Technologies organized a scientific visit to the Nineveh Sewage Directorate / Water Treatment Division, supervised by:
Dr. Huda Abdulrazzaq Younis, Dr. Ali Younis Hamed, Dr. Mahmoud Khalil Saleem, and Assistant Lecturer Yahya Khalid Zaki.

During the visit, the students learned about the stages of water treatment, starting from the removal of solid materials, through sedimentation and biological treatment units, and concluding with the final disinfection stage using ultraviolet rays or chlorine.

The visit aimed to strengthen the practical aspect of students’ education by linking theoretical concepts with real-world applications, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of treatment plants and their role in providing water suitable for agricultural and industrial use.

At the end of the visit, the department’s faculty and students expressed their gratitude to the Directorate’s management for their cooperation and efforts in making the visit a success.
