Northern Technical University services to the community…

Under the direction of Northern Technical University President, Prof. Dr. Aliaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, Northern Technical University participated in a workshop organized by International Solidarity Organization in partnership with the Tigris River Protectors Association, which brought together decision-makers and representatives of service departments to draw a roadmap for water resources management in Nineveh, Sinjar and Tal Afar.
The workshop discussed the integrated water resources management approach and the importance of water basins in the Upper Tharthar areas of Sinjar and Tal Afar, facing the challenges of climate change and water scarcity, a working paper and a roadmap for water management in Sinjar and Tal Afar, in the presence of representatives from the Water Resources Directorate, Nineveh Agriculture Directorate, Agricultural Research Department, Nineveh Water Directorate, Environment Directorate, Meteorology Department, Remote Sensing Center, Conservation and Dry Agriculture Research Center at the University of Mosul, Muthabiron lilkhayr Foundation, Al-Rashd Community Center for Consulting and Research, and a group of activists and academics. This activity is part of the project “Building the capacities of civil society and local actors in Nineveh Governorate to improve water resources management in the context of climate change in Iraq” supported by Agence Française de Développement and implemented by the International Solidarity Organization and in partnership with the Northern Technical University and the Tigris River Protectors Association.
