Under the patronage of the esteemed President of Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, the Arabic Language Safety Unit, in cooperation with the Media and Government Communication Division at the Technical Engineering College / Mosul, organized a celebration on the occasion of World Arabic Language Day.

The event commenced with an opening address and a speech delivered by the Head of the Arabic Language Unit, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdulmawgood Talha, which included the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech by the Dean of the College, delivered on his behalf by Professor Dr. Mohammed Sabah Jirjis, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs. The celebration featured academic and literary segments highlighting the status of the Arabic language and its pivotal role in building scientific and cultural awareness, as well as in strengthening linguistic identity within the academic community.

The event also included two distinguished academic lectures delivered by:

• Professor Dr. Najman Yassin Abbas, on the history, authenticity, and rhetorical excellence of the Arabic language in comparison with other languages, accompanied by a refined recitation of his poem Al-Jabal.

• Professor Dr. Bashar Nadim Ahmed, on Arabic literature and the global spread of the Arabic language.

The celebration was attended by a number of faculty members, students, and individuals interested in linguistic and cultural affairs.

This activity reaffirms the University’s commitment to supporting the Arabic language as a vessel of knowledge, a bridge of communication, and a fundamental pillar of intellectual and scientific development.
