The Department Council of the Geomatics Engineering Technologies Department at the Technical Engineering College / Mosul held its meeting, chaired by the Head of the Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Doaa Taleb Hashim, and attended by all council members. The meeting addressed a set of essential academic topics aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the educational process and strengthening the department’s readiness for international accreditation.

The first part of the meeting focused on the requirements of the ABET accreditation program, where a comprehensive review was conducted of the Learning Outcomes (LOs) matrices, assessment indicators, and evidence documentation mechanisms. Emphasis was placed on establishing a clear timeline for completing the required files and organizing task teams for each accreditation criterion.

In the second part, the council discussed the preparation of the course syllabi for the upcoming academic year. The discussion covered the unification of course descriptions, formulation of learning outcomes for each course, linking them to the program objectives, and adopting accurate assessment mechanisms to ensure academic quality and a clear learning pathway for students.

The meeting also included presenting several technical notes and recommendations related to developing the study plans, enhancing integration among courses, and supporting the efforts made by the scientific and technical committees within the department.
