Under the supervision of the Dean of the Technical Institute / Kirkuk, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at the Technical Institute / Kirkuk organized a specialized workshop on the possibility of engineering scientific departments in technical university formations obtaining software accreditation in accordance with the standards approved by the National Council for Improving the Quality of Technical Engineering Education .

The workshop dealt with several axes, including:

1. The meaning of academic accreditation .
2. The difference between institutional and program accreditation.
3. Standards approved by the National Council to improve the quality of technical engineering education .
4. Steps for scientific engineering departments to obtain software accreditation .
5. The steps for preparing the self-assessment report and the improvement plan, and how to implement their paragraphs .
   The objectives of the workshop: Spreading a culture of quality and how to obtain software accreditation .
   The workshop indicated: the need for the concerned departments to work hard towards the goal of obtaining software accreditation and then institutional accreditation .
   The workshop concluded: Obtaining software accreditation is the first step to obtaining institutional accreditation because they are the real evidence and official recognition of its scientific sobriety, as it is considered an entry point for achieving the quality of technical engineering education, in addition to its endeavor to find a balance between the quality of the educational institution and the service and protection of the interests of society .
