The Department of Geomatics Engineering Technologies organized a course on Differential Global Positioning (DGPS). The course included the following topics:

• Gaining an in-depth understanding of the working principle of the DGPS system.

• Learning the differences between GPS and DGPS in terms of structure, signals, and accuracy.

• Understanding how the reference station corrects signals and improves coordinate accuracy.

• Enhancing the precision of field measurements.

• After the course, participants will know how to collect highly accurate positional data (useful for surveying, engineering, and marine navigation).

• Becoming capable of reducing positioning errors from 5–10 meters to less than 0.5 meter or even a few centimeters.

• Handling professional GPS devices.

• Hands-on training on DGPS equipment (such as Trimble, Leica, and Topcon).

• Learning how to set up the device, adjust configurations, download, and analyze data.
