Northern Technical University organizes a workshop in cooperation with the Norwegian Refugee Council entitled “Potato Marketing Awareness”

Under the patronage and presence of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Department of Media and Public Relations at the University Presidency organized a workshop entitled “Awareness for Potato Marketing” within the SAAVI project implemented by the Norwegian Refugee Council “NRC” and in cooperation with the International Trade Center “ITC” and funded by the European Union (European Union), and in the presence of the Associate Dean of the Agricultural Technical College and the Head of the Plant Production Techniques Department at the Agricultural Technical College, in addition to a number of graduate students and the head of the Agricultural Division at the University Presidency in addition to representatives from the Norwegian Refugee Council and the Center International trade, a number of distinguished potato growers, representatives of the Organizations Committee in the Nineveh Governorate Office, representatives of the Nineveh Agriculture Directorate and Hamid at Agriculture Division (Badush), representatives of Carrefour and some owners of salaries in the city of Mosul. During the meeting, the reality of agriculture and the challenges facing farmers were shed. And the support provided by the government and the problem of lack of rain and providing solutions to obstacles and overcoming difficulties to reach a working formula for establishing an alliance Between producers of crops (especially the potato crop) and buyers (Carrefour and local buyers) to ensure the marketing of crops to make a profit for the entire value chain (producer, buyer, marketer, consumer).

The session achieved its goals, on behalf of the Norwegian Refugee Council and the International Trade Center. The workshop included interventions by the President of the University, in which she expressed her opinion on this subject. She said: The university’s doors are open to embracing any initiative presented by the Council and the university’s full readiness to provide any assistance that would serve the community In our dear province.
