The Women Empowerment Committee at Kirkuk Technical College of Engineering, in cooperation with the Department of Computer Technology Engineering, holds a symposium entitled “Psychological Empowerment of Women Leaders”

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Rida Aslan, Dean of the Kirkuk Engineering Technical College, the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the Engineering Technical College of Kirkuk organized a symposium entitled “Psychological Empowerment of Leading Women”

Lecturer at the symposium, teacher Seizin Taha Abdel-Razzaq, in the Department of Computer Technology Engineering.

The symposium aimed to raise awareness of the concepts of leadership and how to empower women to be leaders, influencers in society, and decision-makers, especially in their personal lives.

The symposium showed that shedding light on the leadership role of women in the various circumstances in which they live, and the lecture focused on the characteristics that distinguish women in leadership and the various conditions that support or restrict them to empower them. She indicated that the three most important factors in empowering women to reach leadership positions in Iraq and the Arab world are: the economic environment, public awareness of women’s leadership, and education, and she touched on the three most important challenges on the way for women to reach leadership positions, whether in Iraq or the Arab world. In the work environment, legal frameworks, and social environment, especially customs and traditions.

The symposium came out with a set of recommendations to enhance the leadership of Iraqi and Arab women, including studied pioneering development through education, pioneering development in the workplace, empowering women entrepreneurs, developing networks of women leaders, as well as improving regulatory and legal frameworks in addition to employing the media as a tool to effect change.
