Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Maha Al-Taif Jassem, Dean of the Institute, the Department of Electronic Technologies at the Institute organized this November a seminar entitled “Designing a Program to Record Student Attendance and Absence Electronically” delivered by Engineer Muhannad Salman Abdul Razzaq from the above department and attended by a number of the Institute’s employees.
The seminar aimed to:
Introducing the program to create an electronic record that is characterized by simplicity of use for students’ attendance and absence from lectures and all study materials, and this record may be a current substitute or a future alternative to the paper lists currently used to record student attendance.
• Investing in the Internet features that are currently available in educational institutions to make this record available to the administration of the scientific departments and the teaching team alike, in a timely and direct manner.
• Facilitating the process of calculating the student attendance rate significantly through the arithmetic functions in the program, and this is very important for the heads of scientific departments and rapporteurs in applying the rules and laws related to students.
The seminar indicated:
The program is a means of urging commitment to attend lectures by making the attendance position of students visible continuously for each subject by displaying it on the display screens in the classrooms.
After proving its ease of use and success, it was suggested to spread it to the rest of the sections.
