2021-12-28The President of the Northern Technical University is a member and supervisor in the discussion committee of the Master’s thesis at the Kirkuk Engineering Technical College on improving the thermal insulation and mechanical properties of concrete using NANO-materials.
The thesis submitted by the student, Alaa Nazim Saleh, dealt with a study to show the effect of adding NANO-materials on the thermal and mechanical properties of concrete.
This thesis aimed to study the effect of silica NANO-materials (SİO2) on the thermal and mechanical properties of concrete such as thermal conductivity, specific heat capacity, thermal diffusion, and compressive resistance, as well as the use of polystyrene (EPS) granules to obtain lightweight concrete with good thermal insulation ability.
In her study, the researcher concluded that the addition of SiO2 and polystyrene granules played an important role in improving the thermal insulation ability of concrete and increasing the compressive strength values.
The discussion committee consisted of:
