The President of the Northern Technical University attends part of the discussion of the technical master’s thesis at the College of Engineering Technology, Mosul, which discusses “the effect of nanomaterials and recycled materials on the properties of self-compacting mortar”

The President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, the Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafeh Mahmoud, and the Dean of the Technical College of Engineering Mosul attended part of the discussion of the technical master’s thesis at the College of Engineering Technical / Mosul, specializing in Building and Construction Techniques Engineering tagged:- Effect of nanomaterials and recycled materials on the properties of self-compacting mortar
Effect of Nanoparticle and Recycle materials on the properties of green Self-Compacting Mortar
The thesis presented by a graduate student (Imad Abdulelah Muhammad) examined the possibility of producing a green self-compacting mortar using locally available secondary and recycled materials that contribute to reducing pollution risks.
The thesis aimed to find the optimum percentage of ceramic powder as a partial replacement of cement and the optimum percentage of the secondary material added to the self-compacting mortar, in addition to obtaining the percentage of fine aggregates resulting from recycled concrete and the percentage of limestone powder required to increase the flowability of the mortar, as well as the creation of suitable models composed of Green self-compacting mortar and ordinary concrete, studying their properties and evaluating their tolerance to stresses applied on them.
The thesis recommended the use of a self-compacting green mortar mixture consisting of ordinary cement and a replacement percentage of (35%) ceramic powder with the use of (2.5%) nanosilica, (20%) fine concrete aggregate, and (10%) limestone powder to produce the material Bonding of concrete surfaces and their treatment of cracks with a width of (10mm).
The discussion committee consisted of:-
Prof. Dr. Mazen Burhan El-Din, Chairman.
Assistant Professor Dr. Jassim Ali Abdullah is a member.
Assistant Professor Jassim Muhammad Abed is a member.
Prof. Dr. Eithar Thanoun Daoud, member and supervisor
