The Northern Technical University is researching for the first time in the Agricultural Technical College / Mosul since its establishment a master’s thesis on (the response of four varieties of the bean crop Vicia faba L to chemical and biological fertilizers).

In support of the postgraduate students, the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, attended part of the discussion of the master’s thesis at the Agricultural Technical College /Mosul – for the first time since its establishment, in which her Excellency had a major role in creating a graduate program in the field of plant production techniques – Tagged with “The Response of Four Varieties of Vicia faba L to Chemical Fertilizers and Biofertilizers” by the student (Ahmed Abdel Khalaf) Department of Plant Production Techniques, the thesis submitted by the student Ahmed Abdel Khalaf aimed to:

  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of bacterial bio-fertilizers, Rhizobium legumeminosarum, Trichoderma harzanium, and chemical fertilizers on the growth and yield of four cultivars of the bean plant in Salah al-Din Governorate.
  • Reducing the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture, which are economically costly on the one hand and polluting the environment, such as the high concentration of NO3 in groundwater resulting from chemical fertilization on the other.

The discussion was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Rafea Mahmoud, the Administrative Prof. Dr. Thanoun Younis Thanoun, the Dean of the Agricultural Technical College, Prof. Dr. Shehab Ahmed Youssef and his assistants, the Director of the Technical Research Center, Dr. Abdel Barr Ahmed Nouri, and the heads of scientific departments in the college.

At the conclusion of the discussion, Her Excellency honored the chairperson and members of the discussion committee in appreciation of their efforts, wishing the college further scientific brilliance.
