The Electronic Communications Department at the institute organizes a specialized course – DTI

DTI

The Electronic Communications Department at the institute organizes a specialized course entitled smart lighting in modern homes.

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al -Attar, President of the Respected University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Maha Al -Taif Jassem, Dean of the Institute, organized the Department of Electronic Technologies at the institute.
M . M . Hassan Zain Al -Abidin Saqi
Associate President of Engineers Ahmed Nazir Hammadi
Those who are attributed to the above section, and a number of employees of the institute participated in it.
The course aimed:
1- Knowing smart lighting and its uses in modern homes, public institutions and main streets
2- Knowing the methods of linking modern lighting and its types and how to join it remotely by smartphone (mobile)
3- Identify its benefits and uses in light of the development taking place
4- Learn about its importance in rationalizing electric energy consumption by 70 percent.
The course dealt with the following axes:
First: The principle of making any smart lighting system depends on three main elements: the smartphone, Wi -Fi network, controlling and its work is one of the issuance of orders that the smartphone does to transfer orders through the Wi -Fi network plus the implementation Controls and transmission of reports via Wi -Fi, then display reports on a smartphone.
And there are three smart lighting systems:
Central system.
Semi -central system.
The decentralized system is the selection of the system according to the actual need and material cost
Second: Practical applications for smart lighting through which we can control LED smart bulbs in the process of operation and extinguishing, as well as increasing and reducing the intensity of glow and controlling lighting colors, and self -control can also be controlled by working times and extinguishing the lamps, and this is done by smartphone (mobile)
Third: Smart lamps are long-term lamps and are controlled in two or more ways through the Wi-Fi network or through Bluetooth. There is a group of Z-Wave and Zigbee Wave technology Her total work period to 35,000 to 50,000 hours
Fourth: One of its advantages is to provide about 70% of the electricity consumed in homes, street lighting and other facilities, and this is without an effect on performance, which ensures that lighting remains compatible with their current rules and standards.
Fifth: This lighting changes the dynamics of lighting in the roads in cities according to traffic congestion, accidents and climate changes, as well as the percentage of light brightness, which raises the safety rate and works to reduce accidents.
Sixth: The possibility of separating the electrical current quickly when any friction occurs or when something that requires this, and this reduces the occurrence of fires in homes and installations.
The course showed
Despite its advantages, there must be some defects, including the internet interruption, and thus user data is not secure and compatibility between devices.
It is costly, communication, difficulty using.
