The College of Health and Medical Technology organizes a course on “Proper nutrition to prevent premature aging”

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yawuz Noureddin / Dean of the Health and Medical Technical College – Kirkuk, the Department of Therapeutic Nutrition Techniques at the college organized a scientific course entitled (Proper Nutrition for the Prevention of Early Aging)

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Wafaa Mahmoud Jassim and was attended by the scientific assistant, the administrative assistant, and several teachers and technicians.The course dealt with ways to prevent aging and made the following points:

  1. What is forgetting and what is memory
  2. What is aging and what are its natural stages?
  3. What is Alzheimer’s and why is it called by this name?
  4. Early Symptoms and Red Signs of Alzheimer’s
  5. Alzheimer’s treatment and prevention methods
  6. The stages of growth, aging, and weakness in human life
  7. Distinguishing between memory and forgetting
  8. Judge your memory for yourself

The course showed that memory is the ability to retrieve information. Memory goes through several stages, the most important of which are:

  1. Registration
  2. Storage and impression
  3. Recall and retrieval
  4. Recognize

Aging: It is a progressive and inevitable state of deterioration that affects all organs, organs, tissues, and cells, weakening their ability to adapt and maintain balance when exposed to pressures, and every living organism passes through it when aging.

The course aims to introduce the types of memory loss, which are:

  1. Progressive
  2. back
  3. Certain period

And don’t forget that (a healthy mind resides in a healthy body).

The course concluded:

The causes of premature aging are:

  1. Excessive exposure to harmful sunlight, as it destroys collagen fibers in the skin through the oxidation process, causing severe skin sensitivity, spots, wrinkles, and sagging skin.
  2. Smoking is the main cause of stretch marks, wrinkles, and body weakness.
  3. Lack of interest in eating foods that contain proteins and carbohydrates, which causes osteoporosis and facial wrinkles.
  4. Not eating vegetables and fruits to prevent aging.
