Under the auspices of the President of Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of Mosul Technical Institute, Asst. Prof. Shahla Abdul Wahab,

the Department of Chemical and Oil Industry Techniques, in cooperation with the Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Branch, organized a symposium entitled “Human Rights and Combating Domestic Violence.”

It was delivered by Dr. Saba Saed, a teaching staff member. It aimed at:

1. Raising community awareness about human rights and the importance of protecting individuals from domestic violence.
2. Discussing policies and laws related to protecting individuals from domestic violence.
3. Calling upon the community to combat domestic violence and increase awareness campaigns.

Recommendations:

1. Organize workshops and lectures to educate the community about the dangers of domestic violence and how to combat it.
2. Enact strict laws to combat domestic violence and ensure the rights of victims.
3. Encourage reporting of cases of violence while ensuring confidentiality and protecting the reporters.
