Department of Civil Techniques, incorporation with Employment and Rehabilitation Unit of Mosul Technical Institute, hosted Stencil, a foundation for engineering design.
The workshop was delivered by Mariam Fawaz and Gufran Duraid, who graduated from Department of Civil Techniques and distinguished themselves by founding Stencil.
The workshop aimed at improving people’ psychological and physical well-being and, consequently, their productivity and comfort, Mosul and the Iraqi market as a whole should acknowledge the significance of interior engineering design, provide experts in the field with opportunities, and promote it. It also aimed at giving contemporary interior design principles including scientific color gradation, boho design, and coordination, introducing the interior design 10-30-60 technique, which centers around the selection of a foundational color and its closely related gradations, and picking a design that is far from tradition and what is aesthetically pleasing but nonetheless represents the designer’s culture in a refined and unique way.
It’s worth noting that the workshop was under the auspices of Dr. Alia Al-Attar, the President of Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Shahla Abdulwahab, the Dean of Mosul Technical Institute.
