On the occasion of the start of the academic year 2022-2023 and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Thanoon Yones Thanoon, the Student Activities Department organized the University Chess Championship for the affiliates of the Nineveh and Kirkuk sites, and the results of the tournament in Nineveh resulted in winning:

• Technical College of Engineering in first place
• Mosul Technical Institute is in second place
• Nineveh Technical Institute third place

And the always brilliant player managed every year, Dr. Tariq Khaled Abdel-Razzaq from the College of Engineering Technology to win the first place

And Mr. Bashar Hamdallah is ranked second in the Technical Institute of Mosul

and Mr. Khaled Khalil Hassan, third place from the College of Engineering Technology

On the same day, the university championship was held at the Kirkuk site and in the presence of the Dean of the Kirkuk Technical Institute. The results of the championship resulted in a team winning:

• Kirkuk Technical Institute is in first place
• The College of Engineering and Technology ranked second
• And Hawija Technical Institute in third place

Where Mr. Atheer Khudair managed to win first place individually (Kirkuk Technical Institute)

Dr. Essam Rafeeq won second place (College of Engineering Technology)

Dr. Hussain Muhammad Issa managed to win third place (Hwija Technical Institute).
