Northern Technical University Distinguishes Itself from Nineveh Universities by Organizing a Course on Government Communication

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Yasser Al-Aboudi, and with the supervision and support of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Aliyah Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Media and Government Communication Department at the university is organizing a course titled “The Role of Government Communication in Developing Media Skills in Educational Institutions,” from October 9 to 10, 2024.

The course commenced with the playing of the Iraqi national anthem, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of our noble martyrs. This was followed by the university anthem and a welcoming speech from the university president and Dr. Thanoon Younis Thanoon, the university’s assistant president for administrative affairs.

The first lecture of the first day, titled “The Emergence of Government Communication,” was presented by Mr. Maitham Saadoun Radi, the government communication officer at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. Dr. Mustafa Hamid Mustafa, the relations officer at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, then delivered a lecture on “The Art of Writing News.” At the end of the first day’s activities, the president of the university presented certificates of appreciation and a token of thanks to the lecturers for their efforts in traveling to participate and provide a wealth of media information aimed at advancing the university’s media work.

The attendance of the course were the Dean of the Institute of Administration in Nineveh, the Dean of the Technical College of Computer and Artificial Intelligence, several media directors from state departments, media staff from the Nineveh Governorate, satellite channels, and media representatives from Nineveh universities.
