A master’s thesis was discussed in the Engineering Technical College / Mosul
Design and Evaluation of Solar Photovoltaic System for Technical Engineering College of Mosul
The thesis submitted by the student (Sarmad Mazhar Suleiman) examined how to obtain the optimal design of solar energy systems in line with the buildings of the Engineering Technical College / Mosul by applying several mathematical methods for this design, in addition to the PV-SOL program for solar systems and the Matlab program. The study on the real laboratory of solar energy, which is located inside the college, and this study showed mathematical analysis and using the optimal method (NEW-ZEALAND method) to determine the efficiency of the design, as well as modeling programs for the components of the solar system in terms of the number of panels, batteries, and reflectors, which appeared completely identical to the real laboratory.
The thesis aims to find a scale factor or scaling factor through which it is possible to design and build a miniature working model (Prototype) that simulates the real building.
The study recommends applying the steps adopted in the (NEW-ZEALAND method) when designing any solar system because it gives the best case with the adoption of the relationship curve between the scaling factor KW/h when building a real miniature board.
