2022-04-12Nineveh Technical Institute organizes a workshop on sustainable tourism development and building a knowledge society
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University and the supervision of the Dean of the Nineveh Technical Institute, the Department of Tourism Technologies and Hotel Management at the Institute organized, and among the activities of the Quality Assurance Unit, a workshop entitled “Sustainable Tourism Development and Building a Knowledge Society.” Majed Muhammad Salih, Dean of the Institute, the Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and a number of the Institute’s employees
The workshop included four topics:
- First Introducing the concepts of (development, sustainability, tourism sustainability, knowledge society)
- Second The role of sustainable development in the tourism sector and a statement of its objectives, conditions, elements, and applications.
- Third The nature of the knowledge society and the value of (information) in it and the investment of development in the tourism sector.
- Fourth Suggested mechanisms for measuring the effects of sustainability in the tourism sector.
The workshop aimed at introducing the term (sustainability) and its applications in the tourism sector. The workshop ended with several proposals related to sustainable tourism development and its role in building a knowledge society.
