Under the auspices of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Mosul Technical Institute, Assistant Professor Shahla Abdel-Wahhab Abdel-Qader, the Department of Pharmacy Technologies, in cooperation with the Foundation (Persevering for Good for Environment and Development), organized a workshop on water pollution of the Tigris River, in which:

The workshop dealt with reviewing the most important risks that the Tigris River suffers from due to the pollutants that flow into it and the treatment methods that reduce this pollution.
The symposium came out with several recommendations, including:
- Using a filter in front of the main hospitals and sewer outfalls.
- Preventing factory water from being pumped directly into the river.
