The Department of Computer Systems Technologies organized a scientific course on (Digital Image Processing Using Matlab)
Attending the course are:-

   Female teachers at Mosul Technical Institute
   It was attended by the scientific assistant, Dr. Raghad Ghaleb Al-Sultan, and a number of the institute’s employees
   The session covered:-
   Reading software images, converting them to other types of images, filtering, cropping, modifying their colors, applying some edge detection filters to images, in addition to applying some morphological operations
   The course indicated:-
   Digital image processing is of great importance in many fields, including the scientific field, the geographical field, and the military field.
   The course aimed to:-
4. Image modification, which is intended to get rid of any appearances of impurity in the image and improve color grades, lighting, and adjustment of surfaces and contrast in the image using multiple algorithms and according to what is required to be implemented on the image and it is called Enhancement
5. Image compression, in which the image is reduced in size for easy saving on the device and shared on social media, using mathematical calculations and algorithms to compress data and image details, called Compression.
6. Segmentation of the image, and it means separating the components of the general image from the other components and then making the modifications we want to the image and it is called Segmentation
   The session came out with several recommendations, including:
   Introducing participants to the different types of image images, the difference between them, the stages of digital image processing, digital image processing programs, the importance of digital image processing, the advantages of digital image technology and the functions used.
