Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Shahla Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Qader, Dean of the Mosul Technical Institute, the Department of Electronic Technologies organized a panel discussion entitled (Using frequency selective surface (FSS) to enhance antenna properties), in which the assistant professor gave a lecture Dr. Khaled Sobhi Ahmed, the episode dealt with the method of using this technique to modify electromagnetic waves

The objective of the seminar is to explain the method of working this technique and its uses in research work, and the episode came out with several recommendations, including:

• The necessity for teachers to keep pace with the modern technologies published in reputable journals in order to establish scientific activities that lead to the advancement of the method of scientific research.
• The necessity of involving the employees of the ministries of defense and communications in such activities.
