Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Shahla Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Qader, Dean of the Mosul Technical Institute, the Department of Electronic Technologies organized a panel discussion entitled (Automation).

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Amer Muhammad Nouri (teacher).

The seminar dealt with the dissemination of the concept of automation among the participants, and the clarification of the meaning of this term by receiving information from the participants among the general public, the aim of which is:

1. Clarify several scientific terms, including PLC, NC, CNC, CAD, CAM, and others
2. Clarify the difference between automation and mechanization.
3. Dissemination of correct information about the concept of ROBOT and how it works.
4. Statement of the important features of automation and their relationship to increased production and quality.

The discussion panel came up with several recommendations, the most important of which are:

1. The use of automation in the joints of life, especially industrial.
2. Work on the use of modern technology and its applications in our practical lives as much as possible.
3. Guidance for the work of small and medium projects and the introduction of the automation system in them.
4. Using the computer to control the course of life and industrial processes as much as possible. A number of the institute’s employees attended the seminar.
