Hawija Technical Institute organizes a panel discussion on (narcotics and psychotropic substances and their destructive effects on the individual and society)

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Omar Khalil Ahmed, Dean of the Institute.

The Psychological Guidance and Educational Guidance Unit at the Hawija Technical Institute organized a panel discussion on (narcotics and psychotropic substances and their destructive effects on the individual and society. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Muhammad Yasseen Hussein (in charge of the Psychological Guidance and Educational Guidance Unit) and was attended by a number of the institute’s employees and students.

The seminar dealt with introducing narcotics and psychotropic substances, their types, medical and therapeutic uses, their negative effects, addiction and its great danger to the individual and society, and how to prevent it, and warning against drug traffickers and their insidious ways of causing addiction to young people.

The seminar showed the dangers of the spread of drugs and psychotropic substances on the productivity and educational attainment of young people.

The seminar aimed to introduce the danger of narcotics and psychotropic substances of all kinds and forms, and how to prevent, avoid and warn against them because of the great danger they cause to the individual and society.

The episode came out with the following recommendations:

Continuing to hold seminars, lectures, and workshops to guide and raise awareness of any negative phenomenon in society

The necessity of establishing scientific and literary activities and integrating young people into useful and beneficial activities

Overcoming difficulties, solving youth problems, and encouraging them for creativity, innovation, and academic excellence.
