Hawija Technical Institute organized a scientific course “Initial Course in Solar Energy Systems”

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Omar Khalil Ahmed, Dean of the Institute, the Department of Mechanical Technologies organized a scientific course on (Initial Course in Solar Energy Systems). The lecture was delivered in the course by Assistant Professor Dr. Iyad Abd Ramadan Al-Jubouri / Teaching At the Institute. It was attended by a number of the institute’s employees.

The course dealt with:

  • Introduction to renewable energies and solar energy
  • The basic parts of solar energy systems.
  • Identify the types of panels, inverters, and tables (batteries) used in solar energy systems.
  • Secondary parts of solar energy systems
  • Installation and maintenance of solar energy systems.
  • Calculation of the consuming capacity of the loads.
  • Economic feasibility study for solar energy systems.

The session indicated:

  • The importance of using solar energy as clean, renewable energy.
  • Learn about different types of solar energy systems.
  • Calculation of costs related to solar energy systems.

The course aimed at:

  1. Defining the basic and secondary parts of solar energy systems.
  2. Identifying the advantages and problems facing solar energy system projects in various fields
  3. Identifying the cost of solar energy with an economic feasibility study.

The session came out with the following recommendations:

  • Encouraging technical, technical, and academic cadres to acquire solar energy as clean, renewable energy that is environmentally friendly and urging segments of society to use it in the supply of electric energy in homes, agricultural pumps, markets, laboratories, and factories, hospitals, state departments, and others.
