Al-Door Technical Institute organizes a course entitled “The best methods to be followed to eliminate parasites”

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Department of Prosthetics at the Institute organized a course entitled: The best methods to be followed to eliminate parasites, which he delivered the assistant Professor Dr. Maqsood Adel Mahmood Al-Tarisi in the department, and a number of the Institute’s employees participated.

The session dealt with some axes:

The first axis :

  1. Identify parasites and their life cycle
  2. The importance of biological, vector and mechanical vector in completing the life cycle of each parasite
  3. Addressing the medical and economic harm of parasites

The second axis:

  1. The necessity of interrupting the life cycle of the parasite in order to eliminate it
  2. Elimination of the biological vector or its treatment and immunization
  3. Destruction of the biological carrier environment

The third axis

  1. Develop a comprehensive plan to eliminate all types of parasites
  2. Treating patients and immunizing people
  3. The necessity of cooperation between higher education and health departments in forming teams to eradicate parasites

The course aimed to:

  1. Understand the life cycle of each type of parasite and thus know how to eliminate them
  2. Recognize the medical and economic risks caused by parasitic infections
  3. Knowledge of the direct and indirect life cycle and the hosts of each parasite

The session came out with several recommendations, including:

  1. Establishment of research centers concerned with parasitic diseases
  2. Cooperation between the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Health and the exchange of experiences and scientific developments
  3. Providing insecticides, in addition to appropriate treatments and vaccines
  4. Examining arrivals from affected areas and ensuring their health
