The Northern Technical University concluded the final phase of the Second Scientific Debates Competition, under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and supervised by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Omar Rafie Mahmoud. This event is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to develop its students’ scientific and intellectual skills.

The final rounds featured four teams representing the university’s various colleges: the Huwija Technical College, the Dour Technical Institute, the Kirkuk Medical Technical Institute, and the College of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. The teams delivered outstanding scientific debates characterized by deep analysis, organized ideas, strong evidence, and adherence to the ethics of dialogue and respect for differing opinions.

The competition, held in a highly competitive atmosphere and rigorously judged by the panel, concluded with the College of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence in Mosul winning the championship title. Their impressive performance demonstrated the team’s proficiency with debate tools and persuasive techniques.

The competition aimed to enhance students’ effective communication skills, promote a culture of evidence-based scientific dialogue, and refine their abilities in analysis and critical thinking, contributing to the preparation of a generation capable of expressing their ideas with confidence and professionalism.

At the end of the event, the President of the Northern Technical University congratulated the winning team, commended the high level of all participating teams, and appreciated the efforts of the trainers, the judging panel, and the organizing committees that contributed to the success of this scientific event. She also emphasized the university’s continued support for scientific and skill-based activities that enhance students’ readiness for the job market.
