Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Aliya Abbas Al-Attar, the esteemed President of the University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Maha Al-Tayyib Jassim, the Dean of the Institute, the scientific departments, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division of the Institute, organized the workshop as part of the sustainability activities planned by the scientific departments for the current academic year.

The workshop was conducted by:

Ms. Asmaa Abdul Haq Mohammed, lecturer in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Ms. Safa Abdul Razzak Kamel, lecturer in the Department of Accounting Techniques.
Several university staff members participated in the workshop.

The workshop aimed to familiarize the attendees with the types of environmental pollutants that have the greatest impact on human life and to highlight the potential exploitation of renewable energy sources. It began with an introductory overview of the environment, its divisions, and renewable energy sources and types.

The workshop concluded with important advice and suggestions, including:

Utilizing renewable energy sources such as water and air to generate electricity and benefit from them.
Transferring sewage waste pipes and avoiding their discharge into water to keep the water clean and free from pollutants.
Avoiding the burial of chemical substances in soil, as it poses significant risks to humans, plants, and animals.
The attendees expressed gratitude to the organizers of the workshop for the provided information, particularly since environmental topics contribute to increasing societal awareness regarding the harmful effects of pollution and how to prevent it in order to maintain a healthy and clean community environment.
