A discussion was held at the Technical Administrative College / Mosul for the Higher Technical Diploma research in Business Administration Technologies submitted by the student Ahmed Jassem Mohammed, titled:
“Evaluating the Quality of Nursing Services Provided in Private Wards: A Comparative Study of the Opinions of Beneficiaries in Private Wards of Public and Private Hospitals in the City of Mosul.”
The research aims to evaluate the quality of nursing services provided to beneficiaries in private wards within public and private hospitals in the city of Mosul, based on the fundamental dimensions of service quality: assurance, tangibility, empathy, reliability, and responsiveness. The researcher sought to compare the availability of these dimensions across both sectors, while identifying strengths and areas for improvement in each.
The study adopted the descriptive method to construct the theoretical framework, and the analytical method to process the data collected from beneficiaries after determining the field of study in public hospitals with private wards and private hospitals in Mosul. The study population consisted of 190 beneficiaries from public hospitals and 280 beneficiaries from private hospitals during the period from July 6, 2025 to July 31, 2025.
A random sample of 370 beneficiaries was selected—170 from public hospital private wards and 200 from private hospitals. A questionnaire prepared for this purpose was distributed, and 150 valid responses from public hospitals and 150 valid responses from private hospitals were used for analysis. Data were analyzed using a set of statistical tools through SPSS V.26, which enabled the study to produce precise results that supported sound scientific conclusions.
The findings indicated a high level of availability of nursing service quality dimensions in both types of hospitals, with private hospitals outperforming in the assurance dimension, which recorded the highest mean value. The results also showed high levels of agreement among beneficiaries, particularly in the assurance and responsiveness dimensions, reflecting a satisfactory level of nursing services in private wards.
The study reached several conclusions, the most significant of which are:
-
The dimensions of nursing service quality are highly available in both public and private hospitals, reflecting a general interest in improving nursing services.
-
Private hospitals excelled in the assurance dimension, making it the most aligned with beneficiaries’ expectations.
-
Beneficiaries showed high levels of satisfaction in both sectors, especially regarding assurance and responsiveness.
In light of these findings, the researcher presented several recommendations aimed at enhancing nursing service quality and improving care environments within private wards.
